My name is Paul, I have been licensed since 2006. I passed my intermediate licence in 2008 at Dover Radio club . Changing call signs from M3OYM to 2EØGTB. It was held over 6 months. I already had an IC- 7000 which I bought in 2006. I have owned several HF radios but nothing came close to the mini marvel in my limited experience. Being used to the multi menu systems I didn’t find the radio hard to use, I can see why some people could find this awkward specially if they have stubby little fingers.

Having the 7000 for a while I think it’s a keeper I don’t think I will ever get rid of it. 90% of contacts I’ve had have been with this from VK6, VP, W6, ZS6 to JA5 and many more. Don’t forget this was designed as a mobile please don’t compare it with Icom's bigger brothers.
